Transformation: My Office

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and had a great time with family and friends and perhaps had a special moment to remember those who are no longer with us.  My husband and I had a quiet Christmas day where we watched LOTR until the power went out and fried our Blu-Ray player...looks like someone will be getting a post Christmas gift at some point!  I also got to spend the very first Christmas with my daughter in 14 years!  Woo hoo!  I was also under strict orders to NOT work or do anything business related...I may have disregarded it for a wee bit, but it was only in small little spurts when the hubby's back was turned!  Now that the snow has decided to finally show up, I figured it is time to get my butt back in gear!

With the new year fast approaching, it is always a rush to make that New Year Resolution that will change your life.   I really wish I had Jennifer's emoji's right now, but alas you will have to trust that I have this look of stunned disbelief.  Not to disregard or trivialize excuses to make things better, but the former Professional Organizer in me shudders at all of the resolution craziness.  Instead, don't resolve to have a better craft room or lose weight or God forbid, give up wine and chocolate.  Just take that moment, when the time is right for YOU, to make a few little adjustments.
  • Clean out your pen cup
  • Maybe drink only one bottle instead of two
  • Perhaps go for a walk with your honey instead of buying a new gym membership
Most of the time, you will find the "little things" mean more AND get better results.

With THAT being said, let's take a look at the final stages of my studio/shop/office transformation!

You have seen the shop and checked out the details, but now it's time to peer into my little work space.

Let's take a look at what it USED to look like.

Ridiculous, huh??  Seriously, how can a person work in this pig sty?  To be honest, this looks better than it typically is!  But not anymore!  I moved a bunch of things around and decided to include a shipping station, put all of my personal crafting supplies close to my desk and I wanted to be able to enjoy my peacocks more!

My little spot
Right behind me - Peacocks and my Froggies!

My little ditties

My stamps, inks, embossing powders, Flower Soft

My fun little trinkety things
Copics, Stamps and Skittles
I am a VERY visual organizer with a dash of logic thrown in for shits and giggles so I like to have all of my goodies OUT, but they need to be in order.  Condensing my studio into a three-piece shop/studio/office has been a difficult transformation and at times VERY frustrating, but it is getting better and I am starting to get into the groove of a smaller space.  Which translates into, putting my crap away after I am finished with it!  (Yes, I was the kid who used to shove everything under the bed when it was time to clean my room.)

I have done a few modifications since I took these pictures, but for the most part it is the same.  I did have to bring my tulips back into my office.  They are my favorite and I couldn't stand NOT having them around.  =)

Aside from my peacocks and tulips, I must say my favorite part about my new set up is having all of the little essentials at my finger tips; Fireworks, my stamps, Copics, Flower Soft, it's all right here just waiting to be used and abused!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

  1. Love it!! I totally understand the visual crafter; if I can't see it, I don't use it. Maybe that's why my room is a pigsty...hmmm...
