For the Love of Paper

Let's face it, I am picky.  I am picky about my soda, I am picky about my food, I am picky about the temperature in my room when I am sleeping and I am picky about the paper I use for cards.

I will wholeheartedly admit that Stampin' Up! spoiled me rotten with paper matching the ink, ribbons matching the buttons and Suzy not having to think about a damn thing.  (However, I HATE their black ink and it needs to die a slow and smearful death.) Aside from their heinous black ink, I do love the matching inks/paper/ribbons/embellishments.  However, it is time for me to move on from Stampin' Up! and find a new source of paper that I can sell in the shop.

One would think that I could just jump online, find some pretty colors and order to my little hearts content...but I can't.  What if the texture isn't right?  What if the colors don't match the Memento Inks that I have fallen in love with?  What if the paper is too flimsy for all of the crap I like putting on my cards?  The HUGE "What if" monster is lurking over my shoulder and making me miserable.  The only thing I know for sure is I like heavy and smooth paper.

I truly love the white and ivory paper from Stampin' Up! for every day stamping use.  It is smooth, it "feels" shiny, and it isn't so heavy that it is obnoxious, but not so light that it feels cheap.  The same can be said for the X-Press It paper for my Copics.  I know a lot of people who LOVE their Neenah, but I am not a fan.  X-Press It is my definite paper of choice.  With that being said, THAT is the style of paper I want to carry.  Smooth, creamy, a bit on the heavy side and in fabulous colors that coordinate well with Memento Inks.  I am starting to think I may be smoking some serious crack on my pipe dream expectations, because I just can't seem to find any paper that fills that order.  Mainly because I don't have the paper knowledge stuffed away in my little head, but that doesn't mean YOU don't!

If you would be so kind as to help a girl out and tell me what brand, what color and which weight of paper that YOU have a torrid love affair with, I would be MOST grateful!  AND if you wanted to be super amazingly wonderful, you can even tell me WHY you love it.

I am pretty sure I have procrastinated enough for one day.  It is time for me to get my butt in gear and start measuring sections for insulation in the shop!  (Did I mention we have electricity AND lights all in?!)  Woo hoo!

Have a fabulous weekend!
Suzy
