Love Birds

Every Monday in the shop we have a Make and Take, which forces me to stop the business end of my work and actually make a card.  Which can be a life saver in of itself.  According to my mother, I get cranky when I am not making cards.  ;)

For last week's Make and Take, I made this colorful card!  I absolutely love the bright and cheery colors and it was easy enough to make in the shop without taking up too much time.

I started by using the Honeycomb Stencil by Heidi Swap.  I totally fell in love with the stencil after Justine used it for her Bee Girl card.  I started sponging in the center of the stencil with Pear Tart from Memento, worked Rose Bud in next to it and then finished the edges with Lilac Posies.  I cannot tell you how much I love that color combination!

Once I was finished sponging the Honeycomb Stencil, I used the Bird Swirl and stamped it onto a 2" x 3" white paper and adhered 3 Raspberry Doubleclick Skittles.  Talk about matching the Lilac Posies ink!   FABULOUS!

I wanted to add a bit of height to the birds, so I placed some foam tape behind the black paper and adhered it to the left side of the honeycomb.  Seeing that it looked a little naked, I used some of our new gingham ribbon and tied a little bow and finished off the card!

For the inside, I wanted to keep the honeycomb theme flowing so I used the Rose Bud and Lilac Posies and sponged the edges to frame in my Audrey Hepburn sentiment.  I also added the honeycomb design to the envelope and it makes the cutest little presentation.

From start to finish, the entire card took about 15 minutes and was super fun and easy to make!

Thank you so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out all of the fun projects on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

    1. Thank you, Halak! For some reason I always think of the bird as a Christmas stamp and was thrilled when it really isn't. LMAO
