From This Day Forward

Every month in the shop, we have special card classes that revolve around the current theme of the year; Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc.  However, August is a little tough since celebrating how stinking hot it is just isn't fun.  So this year we centered the class around Special Occasions and this was the wedding card we all made!

I absolutely LOVE this card.  Originally, I was going to make it and then give it to my brother for his wedding since it is a few weeks away, now...not sure my little brother is worthy enough.  ;)   Just kidding!!!!  (Actually, if you want to know if I am REALLY kidding, click here...he he he)

Needless to say, he isn't getting this card, because I truly do love it.

It was beyond simple to make and it didn't take me long at all.

  1. I stamped the bottom of the white 1st layer - 4" x 5.25" with the Flower Doodle stamp in London Fog ink by Memento
  2. Stamped This Day Forward in Black Memento Ink
  3. Ran it through the Big Shot with the Wire Fence Embossing Folder - which is my new "go to" embossing folder for sure!
  4. I rounded the top two corners of the white paper, Date Swirl and black card
  5. Next, I used the same Flower Doodle stamp, inked it with black Memento ink and randomly stamped onto the Date Swirl paper
  6. Then I took my Versa Mark ink pad and just pounced directly onto the Date Swirl paper and completely covered it
  7. I sprinkled a bit of the Ice Embossing Powder from Stampin' Up!, heat set it and taped it to the top of the white paper
  8. For the bow, I didn't want tails so I used my fabulous Bow Maker that Miss Carri, from DoubleClick Connect, gave me - She is so amazingly wonderful!
  9. I taped the finished front to the card and I was all set!
Super simple, super fun and it just doesn't get any better than that!

Ok, maybe it does, because I am quite smitten with the inside sentiment from Audrey Hepburn.  It is elegant, romantic and perfect for a wedding card.

Thank you so much for joining us today and be sure and pop in tomorrow when Miss Rubeena is back on the blog as our Guest Designer!

Until next time,

Happy Stamping!

Love the card Suzy, especially that sparkly touch with the embossing. I totally think you should keep it for yourself. (Just kidding... LOL) ^__^ *Big Panda Hugs*
