Happiness is...a gift card!

Hey everyone - it's Jen from Caffeinated Papercuts with a pretty card that holds a surprise. Who doesn't love a good surprise, right?

I've hit a creative roadblock these past few days, so when given the chance to play with some new-to-me card making templates, I went for it. A little Pinterest browsing for ideas and I was happily cutting up some MME paper to create this card. I left room between the scallops for my Happiness is... sentiment and finished off the front with a strip of ribbon. This is all paper and ribbon - what a way to finally use my horde selection of 6x6 paper pads!

So then the question was, what to put on the inside? I went browsing through my finishing sentiments and decided I need more (the struggle is real, people). My eyes fell on 'one more hour to shop', but how to tie it into the card? Sometimes it's good not to clean your desk because I spotted my little white paper bags - aha!

A little stamping with my favorite Petal Flower 3 to jazz it up and we have a gift card holder, folks! I mounted the bag horizontally so the gift card cannot fall out, and then the bag still looks pretty when the lucky recipient snags the spending money.

Well of course I had a Dunkin Donuts card laying around; really, who's surprised by that? Fits nicely, I must say. Now the little bags I picked up at Hobby Lobby I'm guessing at some point, and the paper pad I've been hoarding slowly using forever and a day, but you can easily use any papers then just pick out your stamp inks to match. A stylish way to give a gift card!

Be sure to join in our September challenge of using our Happiness is stamp line. If you don't have a blog you can link up via Instagram or just play along over at our Facebook group. I cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with! And be sure to let me know if you give this card idea a try. ;)
