Last Minute Gift Giving Idea

Hello everyone!!  Kymona here today!!  Are you ready for Christmas?  Have you finished shopping? For those of you who do not celebrate Christmas what do you do this holiday season?  Do you laugh at all of the last minute madness?

Well, I have to admit, I love the last minute shopping. Yes, I'm the 11th hour shopper!!  It gives me a rush!  LOL!!! My kids do not ask for gifts that will sell out.  For example my son wants a full length mirror, slippers, some cloths, a book bag and a purple pick.  My daughter wanted a mermaid tale.  Now you tell me who else whats these items?  So, you see why I can wait to the last day.

For those of you who are last minute shoppers and can't find a gift for that special person.  I have an idea for you!

GIFT CARDS!!!

They are the easiest thing to give to someone weren't able to get a gift for.  Now you could give them the gift card as is or you could make your own gift card holder that is easy as 1-2-3!!

Here's how:

  • First, I collected all of the pieces I need to create the gift card holder.  The pattern paper measures 6 x 5-1/4.  Scored on the 6 inch side: 1-1/4 and 3-3/4; turn and score on the 5-1/4 side: 3/4 on the right and 3/4 on the left.  The belly ban is cut to 6 x 1 scored at 4-1/4 and 1-11/16.

  • Second, I cut the four edges off leaving just the two middle flaps.  Then I used the corner chomper to round the corners of the top flap. Next you need to cut the middle flaps corners so that when you close it, it closes flush with the sides.  You have to use your bone folder to crease the score lines.

  • Then you have to add a strong adhesive to the flap so that the holder will close.

  • Then you close the larger flap creating a pocket.

  • Then I used a 1in circle punch to add an opening for the gift card can pop through.

  • Now you have to create a belly ban so that the holder will close.

  • Add adhesive to the belly ban so that it stays closed.

  • Now that the holder is created lets add a personal touch.  I stamped and colored So Suzy Stamps Present stamp.

  • I finished my color and chose to go with the red and green colors.

  • Then I used my scan and cut to cut out the presents.

  • I added these boxes to the front of my gift card holder and Wa-La!! Its complete!

Nice, easy and simple!!!  These are heading off to some friends!!

Have a safe and wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!!!  I will see you then!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
