Airbrushed Dinosaurs

Today I have no words.  Instead I am going to let Chris's photos do the talking!  She made some great card sets using a bunch of our Dino and Sea Critter stamps!

For these card sets, I used the new Hello Friend stamp with several of Suzy's adorable colorable images: Marco, Clyde, Pteradactyl, and Triceratops

  • I first stamped them with Versafine Black Onyx ink on smooth surface Vellum paper, then colored them with my Zig markers.
  • I colored a whole page of them and then used my Scan n Cut 2 to cut them out.
  • For my backgrounds, I used my airbrush to create the backgrounds directly on the white Gina K card base.

  • I used randomly tore pieces of copy paper to make masks for my airbrushed backgrounds.
  • And using a plastic glove to protect my hand from marker spray, turned and flipped and angled the masks, and added layers of color with these Copic markers.

I use the Copic ABS-3 airgrip system and a 1/6 h.p. air compressor.

You can make some really fun, wild backgrounds in just a few minutes. (You can do the same with your Clarity Stencil brushes and regular dye or distress inks, too.)

I added my cut out images with Brutus Monroe glue and stamped Happy Mail on each card. On this card, I added some little "drops" with a white Uni-ball Signo pen. I also stamped the image on the edge of the envelope.

For this triceratops envelope, I used the reverse image stamp to make sure my dino was facing in, toward the address space.

I used a clear 1/2" thick card box for my packaging. Each box contains a set of four cards and envelopes. I wrapped a 1 3/4' x 12" piece of patterned paper around the top of the box, then stamped the hello a die cut rectangle (MFT stamps) and added another of the colored images.

If you would like to see more cards made my Chris, be sure and check her out on Instagram!  All of her cards are downright stunning!
