Guest Designer Carolyn Labille!

Today we are welcoming Guest Designer Carolyn of Free Spirits Studio to the blog! I am super excited about all her projects, they are stunning! Carolyn used the Marco - Sea Turtle  and Polka Dot Fish to create this card. Let's see what she has to say:

Hi ya lovelies! I am so excited to share my first Guest DT card with you today. I fell in love with these stamps and knew I had to create a fun little ocean scene.

Recipe:

  1. Stamp images in Black Memento Ink onto Gina K Pure Luxury layering cardstock.
  2. I colored my images with Copics.
  3. I cut out the images
  4. I used dies for the banner and sentiment.
  5. I used 2 different sized hole punches for the bubbles.
  6. I found paper in my stash that resembled bubbles.
  7. I cut my paper to size then layered on top of heavy weight white cardstock.
  8. I used my Perfect Layers rules to create a trimmed back piece for a finished look.
Simple, fast and fun! There are so many options with these cute stamps, anyone could create a fun and simple aquatic scene.

About Me...
I take time to craft and read every single day. I can't imagine not being creative and feeding my soul. I create card, scrapbook and digital design. I love digital photography, am crazy about paper, addicted to organization of all kinds and I can honestly say I am nuts about planners. Oh yeah, I can't forget that I am obsessed with Hedgehogs and Gnomes! Whilst crafting I listen to books on CD so I can enjoy a good story AND crafting at the same time!

I will be back next week, thanks for stopping by to see my card!

  1. I love this cute card....is that the most adorable Turtle.....I had written you this long message about the little turtle "Lucy" who had been my mothers before she passed away in 2009..and who now resides in Oakley, CA with my wonderful daughter Tina and son in law Joe....they are now her caregivers...and are doing a fabulous job. "Lucy" has a bottom jaw that did not grow correctly...so Tina and Joe sought the help from a vet in their area..and he offered some ideas about how to help her....salves and vitamins and all sorts of things..well...her jaw has grown some...she is well and happy...has an aquarium so huge..with all the grass, water, hot rocks...little shelter....Joe also takes her out in the back yard when he tends to the maintenance of the grass and plants...and lets her loose...it is incredible how she roams around and enjoys hunting for snails and worms....My mother is smiling from Heaven....I love this turtle stamp...and I think I will put it on my Christmas wish list....The family would enjoy receiving a card knowing that Momma had her hand upon mine while I made it......May you enjoy all the blessings of this Holiday season...and thank you for listening to my little story.....big hugs..Ro

    1. Awwwww, that is the best story EVER and thank you so much for sharing it with us! We have a turtle as well and his name is Vinny. He used to live in an aquarium in my craft room and would get up and dance to Shakira every time she came on! LOL He has gotten quite big so during the spring, summer and fall he lives outside in a habitat my husband built for him. LOL So glad to have found another turtle lover out there!!
