I started this project by cutting out a big tag shape using taupe colored cardstock and then cut out a smaller piece from patterned paper. When I make shabby chic cards or tags I always distress the edges of the paper with distress ink, a piece of sand paper and/or scissors.
Using the same paperpad I made some embellishment; little flowers and leaves using different dies.
Most of the time I use some wooden ornaments on my shabby chic projects and on this tag I used a frame and ornament on which I added wink of stella gold glitter. This gives a very nice shine and an old look to the plywood. I also used some tea dye ranger distress ink on them.
Then I stamped the sentiment using the simple birthday wishes stamp on a scrap piece of taupe cardstock, traced the frame with a pencil, cut it out, distressed the edges and glued it behind the wooden frame.
I assembled all the different pieces on the tag with a hot glue gun; the paper flowers, leaves, mulberry flowers, piece of linnen cloth, ribbon and pearls.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Don't forget that So Suzy is having their 3rd birthday celebrations from April 6 through April 20.
I hope you'll join us then!
